How it works?

Tamoxifen citrate contains an active ingredient named as tamoxifen which belongs to the class of drugs called ‘anti-oestrogens’. Oestrogen is a natural substance present in your body called as ‘sex hormone’. The medication is known to act by blocking the effects of oestrogen.

How to take Nolvadex?

Nolvadex is always taken exactly as per the doctor’s instructions. The recommended dose of this medication is 20 mg by mouth once on a daily basis, at about the same time every day. In case of missed dose:

Nolvadex is found to interact with the following medicines:

• Antidepressants (such as paroxetine, fluoxetine)
• Medicines for treating cardiac arrhythmia such as Quinidine
• Blood thinning medicines (such as Warfarin)
• Drugs known as ‘aromatase inhibitors’ used for treating breast cancer. These may comprise of anastrozole, letrozole and exemestane

Precautionary measures:

• Do not use Mirapex tablet if you are allergic to Pramipexole or to any of the constituents in the medication.
• Do not take Nolvadex tablet if you are having hypersensitivity to Tamoxifen or any of its ingredients.
• If you are pregnant, or planning to get pregnant; this drug is not good for you. As the drug may affect unborn baby.
• Nolvadex could harm your new born baby. You must not breast-feed during treatment and for 2 weeks subsequent to the last dose of this cancer drug. Tell your physician if you are breast-feeding.
