Doxylamine and pyridoxine is an antihistamine and vitamin B6 combination. The way it works to treat nausea and vomiting is unknown.


The recommended dose of 2 tablets orally at bedtime

Maximum dose: 4 tablets daily.

Doxylamine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body.

Pyridoxine is a form of vitamin B (B6).

Doxylamine and pyridoxine is a combination medicine used to treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, sometimes called morning sickness.


Doxylamine and pyridoxine may impair your thinking or reactions. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine will affect you.

Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase drowsiness caused by doxylamine and pyridoxine.

Do not take any medicine without your doctor's advice while you are pregnant.


Excitement, irritability and sedation have been reported in nursing infants presumably exposed to doxylamine succinate. There have been no reports of adverse effects in nursing infants presumably exposed to pyridoxine hydrochloride.

Doxylamine succinate and Pyridoxine should not be used in nursing women. Doxylamine Succinate: Excreted into human milk: Unknown (Doxylamine Succinate); Yes (Pyridoxine) Excreted into animal milk: Unknown (Doxylamine Succinate and Pyridoxine) The effects in the nursing infant are unknown.
